Road repairs complete in Viljoen-Jansen

Residents in Viljoen-Jansen raised over R60k to repair damage to their roads. The upgrades are fantastic. All potholes in those roads have been repaired, cracks sealed, broken curb stones replaced and all road markings painted. Our approved contractor did fantastic work. Any other roads who would like to look at doing the same, please contact us and we will connect you with the contractor.

Maintenance completed this month

This week, we replaced all three of our guard huts. We are very pleased with the much-needed facelift, and the guards are very happy with the upgrades to their spaces. We reformatted them slightly on the interior so that there is more space, and all three huts now have a covered verandah. Thanks to Dan for taking most of the week off to help reinstall the equipment. We have also finished the road repairs at all three gates, along Steyn, and replaced a speed bump on Wagenaar. A big thank you to all the community members who donated towards this project - our roads are in a sad state, and if we wait for the municipality, we might wait forever at this rate. We need to be the change we want to see in our community. Going forward, we are happy to facilitate arranging a quote, but funds will need to be raised for other road repairs, or we need more members to sign up! We will communicate soon with regards to how we can collectively make this a reality.

Whitelisting

We have made significant progress on the camera project, with a comprehensive rollout plan in place. We are currently coordinating with key stakeholders to secure internet and electricity for the camera installations. A key component of this initiative is the installation of new ANPR cameras at entrances and exits to automate boom access for residents through a whitelisting system. Residents can opt to whitelist their vehicle registration numbers, which will work alongside existing stickers to ensure smooth operation, even as we address potential initial challenges. We will notify you via the WhatsApp group when the trial phase begins.
